SALKANTAY MACHUPICCHU
ALTERNATIVE INCA TRAIL

7 DIAS / 6 NOCHES

An ancient and remote path in the same area as the Inca Trail, however less visited but with much more spectacular views. This trek is an excellent choice for those who wish to escape the more congested routes and a faster way, or those who are looking for an alternative when the Inca Trail this traditional congested. You can see the change of the various floors organic, from subtropical areas and stunning peaks and glaciers, to reach the Lost City of the Incas, Machupicchu.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA – ICHUPATA
We start from the city of Cusco early on a journey of 3 ½ hours to Challacancha then start the hike to Soraypampa instead of our lunch and afternoon continue to Ichupata instead of our first camp.

DAY 2: ICHUPATA – INCA CHIRIASCA - PAMPACAHUANA
After a good breakfast we prepare to undertake the more difficult the trek walk out at 07:00 am we travel all over the place called Pampa Japanese then drive to the right side of Nevado Salkantay, at 12:00 pm will be at the zenith - Salkantay Step to 4,500 m. - At this site we look at the mountains and glaciers of Salkantay and appreciate the magnificent view of the falling snow avalanches Pampacahuana then descend to our campsite.

DAY 3: PAMPACAHUANA – PAUCARCANCHA
This day will be unforgettable because along the way we will see the channels Incas based on Pampacahuana will pass through the community of Pampacahuana and continue to decline, reaching to our camp where we will have lunch and after this we will be guided to the archaeological site of Paucarcancha, then have dinner.

DAY 4: PAUCARCANCHA – HUAYLLABAMBA – LLULLUCHAPAMPA
Depart in the morning at 7:00 a.m. appreciating a variety of agricultural crops after about 4 hours walk to reach Huayllabamba where you start the Inca Trail Sacred and in Yuncachimpawe will lunch, continue for about 3 hours to our camp Llulluchapampa.

DAY 5: LLULLUCHAPAMPA – PAQAYMAYU – CHAQUICOCHA
This day will leave at 7 am after spending the most difficult part of this trek, the Abra de Warmi Wañusca will begin to decline until Paqaymayu instead of our lunch, we continue the walk and arrived at the archaeological center of Runkuracay and then Sayacmarca and the archaeological site of Concha Marca and then reach Chaquicocha instead of our camp.

DAY 6: CHAQUICOCHA – PHUYUPATAMARCA – WYÑAYWAYNA
After breakfast proceed Inca tunnel down to reach Phuyupatamarca instead of our lunch and then we will visit the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca, we will again another Inca tunnel Wiñaywayna finally arriving instead of our last night of camp.

DAY 7: WYÑAYWAYNA – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO.
After breakfast, very early, we went to Inti Punku (The Gate of the Sun), the gateway to the ancient Inca city Machupicchu from this point is an unforgettable experience after descending will visit this magical place and we will have a guided tour about two hours in the citadel of Machupicchu. In the afternoon take the train back to Cusco and arrive around 20:30 hrs. A Cusco and then we transfer to your hotel.
